Rock It To the Kremlin
(Reale, Terminal Zone Music, BMI)
It was a classified envelope marked from the CIA
It said your services are needed come on down to the office today
I jumped out of bed with my guitar and my suitcase in hand
To bring the message to Moscow, the State Department needs a band!
Touching down at the airport and what do you think I see?
I’m being followed to the hotel by a car full of KGB
I’m headed for the door when they surround me just to shout in my face
They said give us your passport, and open up that case!
Rock it to the Kremlin
Iron curtain lose control
Rock it to the Kremlin
Freedom on the radio
Secret meetings and midnight confidantes
Well it’s spy vs. spy
They know what they need and they get what they want
And now I’m caught in the middle of some B-movie espionage
If they’d only ask me, I think I know just what they want
Rock it to the Kremlin
Iron curtain lose control
Rock it to the Kremlin
Freedom on the radio

It slays me that I wasn’t able to see this show at the time (I was working in my last crap retail gig and we were doing an inventory shift). The roomtone may say “Arlene’s,” but this set takes me back to the El n Gee, the pier, Manitoba’s, everywhere I was fortunate enough to see one of the greatest rock bands of the past forty-odd years. This set is ON FIRE, showing just how cohesively the boys played, how strong their songs were, and how much they just loved to play. Goddamn, what Stopheles

I bought the vinyl LP shortly after "Let's Go!" came out. "The Reducers" sounds better to me now than it did then. It includes Reducers classics such as "Better Homes and Gardens" and "Out of Step." This was the best punk band I ever heard. It is wonderful to be hearing "The Reducers" again. alanlewis
